Our Vision

Each February 2, our nation celebrates the antics of a furry, burrowing rodent on Groundhog Day. From Maine to California to Alaska and Hawaii, the nightly news will certainly report the anticipated annual prediction of Punxsutawney Phil-will the groundhog see his shadow this year, foretelling that winter will last another six weeks? We believe it's time to give Punxsutawney Phil's western cousins their due by making February 2 a day to celebrate another furry, burrowing rodent: the prairie dog of the Great Plains and Intermountain West. Our aim is to complement the eastern version of Groundhog Day with our own Western counterpart.

Prairie Dog Day is Sat Feb 2, 2008
